About the West Virginia Hybrid Electric Rally

In the news: For State Journal readers, check page 19 of the March 12th issue for a photo of rally driver, Dave Bassage.

When was the rally?

April 2, 2004

What was the plan?

  • A road trip beginning in the morning at WVU’s NRCCE in Morgantown and ending with an evening banquet in Charleston
  • We met with students and played Rally games at pit stops along the way to educate them about HEVs and the role West Virginia can play in clean coal to hydrogen
  • We talked with the media to educate the public about the benefits of HEVs
  • Prizes were awarded to the top scorers at the banquet.

Why I should have participated?

  • Because it was FUN
  • Because hybrid electric vehicle owners are leaders in promoting alternative fuel vehicles by their example
  • Because hybrid electric vehicles promote cleaner air and energy independence today
  • Because it was a chance to meet other HEV owners
  • Because it was a chance to influence young minds and decision-makers.
